This idea came from a day when I was working and Rick Tiger my co-writer said I had a certain "glow" to me that day......and really I was just lazy and didn't take my makeup off from the night before. I was soooo exhausted because that was when I was working a million hours a week. HA! So we both looked at eachother and thought that would be a great song title but we had to make the story a little more scandalous than a waitress who just fell asleep in her makeup. So now you know where it all started. But come on ladies....wether you want to admit it or not, you know what we are talking about here...hehehe!!
Yesterdays Makeup
(Donahue/Tiger/Trent)
Woke up at the crack of noon
Cigarettes for perfume
Was another night
Yeah one of them nights
Thought I was a rockstar
At some old karaoke bar
Must a been a good time
Yeah it was a good time
My hairs a mess
Got a wrinkled dress
Made a big mistake
Gotta get away
Wearing yesterdays makeup
Hope that boy don’t wake up
Thinking that he found love
Cause that wasn’t what it was
Its what a broken heart does
When it gets to hurtin too much
Just trying to get over us
Wearing yesterdays makeup
I know what I did last night
Was nowhere near bein right
And that ain’t who I am
But I didn’t give a damn
Walking down this empty street
No need to look behind me
I can’t change that
It’s a cold hard fact
My heads a mess
My hearts a wreck
I’m not ok
But I’ll face today
Wearing yesterdays makeup
Hope that boy don’t wake up
Thinking that he found love
Cause that wasn’t what it was
Its what a broken heart does
When it gets to hurtin too much
Just trying to get over us
Wearing yesterdays makeup
Oh its what a broken heart does
when it gets to hurting too much
just trying to get over us
wearing yesterdays make up
Woke up at the crack of noon
Cigarettes for perfume
Was another night
Yeah one of them nights
